Indie-fy your iPod! - Tiny edition

No, this is not Part 3 of the Indie-fy your iPod! series. It's a 'mini review' and a hint of what I'm planning to post in Part 3.

Recently, someone asked me what I meant by the 'indie' part in the series' name. 'Indie' as in
1) genre-wise: indie rock(example) or 2) catch-all phrase : generally all independent? Here, I wish to point out that it is the 2nd definition. I do not believe in extreme categorization of music into uber-specific genres, because it seems kind of restrictive. Confusing, too.

IT'S VERY HARD POSTING ABOUT A BAND IN THE ROCK GENRE, ONLY TO HAVE PEOPLE FLAMING ME SAYING THAT THAT BAND SHOULD BELONG IN THE EMO GENRE BECAUSE IT'S TOO GAY TO BE CATEGORIZED AS 'ROCK'. That kind of sh*t. And by 'gay', they meant 'lame' gay, not 'homosexual' gay (need to emphasize this before everyone starts quoting human rights stuff and flames me further for 'being insensitive and offensive').

Scarred By Beauty (2009)

Scarred By Beauty is a Danish metal band, formed in 2006. They're currently on tour throughout Europe. Next stop is Kafe Kafka in Horice, Czech Republic. In 2009, their EP 'We Swim' won in the 'Talent of the Year' category at the Danish Metal Awards; this EP is available for free online, just CLICK HERE to go to their Myspace page. And last I checked, it's also available as a torrent on Mininova.org. I downloaded 'We Swim' last month, but I totally forgot about it until today. It was lodged somewhere inside my Downloads folder, a folder full of other stuff which I've also forgotten about. I have until the end of this month to reorganize and delete unwanted files on my laptop (new semester starting in March).

My favorite song(s): I've only listened to 3 songs, all from 'We Swim'. Haven't decided upon one yet.
